After a holiday of my parents berating my madwoman driver Austrian aunt, on the last day of our stay she finally took heed and screeched to a stop at a pedestrian crossing to let a frail old lady cross unhindered. The old gal refused to budge. She had no doubt seen the maniacal glint (tamed but temporarily) in my Aunt’s eyes, and she obviously wasn’t going to trust in the occasion…

And the French take the cake for touch parking! My goodness, I don’t know how he does it, but my boyfriend manages to park his car repeatedly in spots 10cm too short. To my pleas of “but you’re bumping the bumper bar!” the only reply I receive is
“But why iz it uh called ze bumper bar if it iz not uh made to be bumped?”
He was reciprocally in stitches at any parking efforts he saw in Australia though. Hmm…
